Our Physiotherapists have completed additional training in treating the TMJ.
This tiny joint can cause pain, can lock, and can produce clicking. Once aggravated, the TMJ pain and discomfort can affect how a person performs everyday tasks like eating, laughing, yawning and speaking.
Often times bad habits such as grinding of teeth and chewing of nails, gum, or pencils for prolonged periods can aggravate the TMJ.
If you have any of the following symptoms, your TMJ should be evaluated:
- Jaw pain
- Headaches
- Clicking/Clunking of jaw
- Upper neck pain and stiffness
- Ear pain, feeling of “fullness” in ear, or ringing in ears
- Difficulty chewing on one or both sides
- Difficulty opening your mouth fully
